Leadership Talks - The Longest Yard (1974) - Movie

LEADERSHIP
THE LONGEST YARD (1974), On the Left - Paul Crewe and On the Right - Warden Hazen

The movie was a fascinating example of a Leadership Issues which were briefly explained through sports mode. The Longest Yard movie is about popular professional quaterback Paul Crewe who us sent to the detention center. He has been force by Hazen (Warden) to make a team of prisoners to face off against the team of guards in american football game.
Leadership in simple term is being defined as a leader is a person who has the followers. In the movie, the two extreme leaderships were Dictatorship and Situational Leadership.
Hazen gives a leadership style of Dictatorship, Self-focused and always wants the result what he wants at any cost. Hazen blackmail, torture his guards to give him the result as per his requirements.
Crewe has been a situational leadership and initially self-centered, but after realizing the team emotions, their attitude towards the game has change its motive towards the benefit of the team. Crewe is following the path of  Delegating, Supporting, Coaching and Directing to help his team to understand the game and overcome their hurdles.
The movie also depicts the positive energy which is transferred from the leader to its followers which change their mindset and attitude towards achieving the goal.
Both of the two leadership have their owns pros and cons. but depending upon the conditions the Crewe leadership has taken over the Hazen towards the end.
The movie has also pinpoint some of the social issues like racism etc. and the conditions to deal with them.
In a whole, This movie is worth to watch from the leadership point of view as it give different dimensions to analyze the situation.
